RTTN:Indian Rupee Trades At 2-day Low Against US Dollar
(RTTNews) - The Indian rupee dropped below the 46.0 level against its US counterpart on Wednesday, tracking weak domestic equities. The domestic unit depreciated almost 1.2 percent to reach a 2-day low of 46.04 against the dollar from Asian session's 6-day high and is fast approaching Monday's 9-month low of 46.10.
The Indian market fell sharply with selling accelerating in late trading, as profit taking emerged after two days of gains amid subdued Asian cues. After showing some resilience in early trading, the benchmark 30-share Sensex finished the day down 213 points or 1.29 percent at 16,285. With an uncertain global economic environment weighing on sentiment, the broader Nifty index fell by 60 points or 1.21 percent to 4,889.
