NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks added to Wednesday gains after a regional gauge of business activity in the Chicago area yielded better-than-expected results. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA +0.97% rose 104.10 points to 11,664.05. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index SPX +1.08% climbed 13.88 points to 1,226.90. The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP +0.90% added 24.87 points to 2,600.88.
