BLBG:Russian Equity Movers: Chelpipe Opin, Polyus Gold, Rosneft
 
The 30-stock Micex Index (INDEXCF) declined 1.2 percent to 1,537.87 by 1:02 p.m. in Moscow, paring its weekly gain to 1.4 percent. The dollar-denominated RTS Index fell 1.5 percent to 1,650.25 rubles.
The following were among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.
OAO Chelpipe (CHEP RX) gained after Kommersant reported France’s Vallourec SA is in talks to buy a 25 percent stake in the Russian pipemaker, citing two unidentified people. The shares climbed as much as 6.3 percent, the biggest gain since Aug. 12, and last traded 2.5 percent higher at 81.99 rubles.
OAO Opin (OPIN RX) surged the most in almost a month after the Russian real-estate developer owned by billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov said it will buy back 60,000 ordinary shares at 995.65 rubles each. The stock jumped as much as 12.8 percent, the biggest intraday gain since Aug. 15, and traded 2 percent higher at 850.1 rubles.
OAO Polyus Gold (PLZL RX), Russia’s largest gold producer, gained for a fourth day in a week, adding 0.4 percent to 1,855.8 rubles. Bullion for immediate delivery rose as much as 0.5 percent to $1,880.03 an ounce after falling as much as 0.9 percent.
OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX), Russia’s largest oil producer, fell for a second day after crude declined in New York to below $89 a barrel. The stock retreated 2.2 percent to 223.3 rubles.
