Gas prices in the United States have jumped up by 6 cents in the past 2 weeks. However a stable rises is in the near future, as said by a publisher of a new survey on Sunday. With average cost of a gallon is $3.67, which went up by almost 6 cents from the last two weeks, as per the Lundberg Survey.
Publisher Trilby Lundberg said, in most of the cases it’s because of the slightly upper prices of crude oil in the 2-week time and somewhat higher prices of ethanol also added to the misery. She further added that she doesn’t see the uptrend for the future, provided that there is no scarcity of supply, and expects the prices of crude oil to be calm in the coming time, gasoline prices are likely to go down as the demand is decreasing as many people without jobs prefer to stay off the roads.
She also mentioned that the average price of the gas is 98 cents at the pump, which is higher in contrast with the last year price, mainly due to higher prices of crude oil.
As per the latest survey that was taken on Friday, the lowest average gas price was in Tucson city, Arizona at $3.32 while Chicago was at the highest end with average price at $4.02.
The Difference between cities is often mainly determined by taxes.
