TA: S.Africa's rand touches year-lows against dollar
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's rand fell more than 1.6 percent to its softest level in more than a year against the dollar on Monday, as nagging problems in Europe hit risk appetite anew. The rand touched a session low of 7.5995 to the greenback -- the weakest it has been since late July 2010 -- and was trading down 1.32 percent at 7.5625 by 0616 GMT. Government bonds fell alongside the currency, pushing the yield on the four-year bond up 8.5 basis points to 6.865 percent. The yield on the bond due in 2026 added eight basis points to 8.285 percent.
