MW: Futures back away from the edge
 
U.S. stock futures pulled away from earlier sharp declines ahead of the open, Friday as shell-shocked investors prepared for another volatile trading day.

The Dow INDU looked set to lose about 40 points at the open. Earlier it had been poised for a triple-digit loss.

Gold GC1z continued its slide, losing 445.60 to $1,696 an ounce.

Oil lost$1.05 to $79.46 a barrel.

And the yield on 10-year treasurys 10_YEAR rose to 1.75%, after earlier hitting a record low of 1.68%.
