(RTTNews) - During New York late morning trading on Friday, the British pound extended its early session's upward trading against euro and the Swiss franc. The sterling climbed to a new multi-week high of 0.8602 against the euro and more than a 4-month high of 1.4173 versus the franc at around 11:20 am ET, which may be compared to yesterday's closing value of 0.8703 and 1.4024, respectively.
Against its Japanese counterpart, the British currency also edged up further and hit a high of 120.62 by about 11:30 am ET from early European session's low of 119.16.
Currently, the sterling is worth 0.8604 against the euro, 120.35 versus the yen and 1.4150 versus the franc.
