MW: U.S. dollar up as concerns over Greece intensifies

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar index edged higher Monday as the euro fell after news that Greece won't meet its deficit targets this year. The dollar index DXY +0.29% , which tracks the greenback against a basket of six rivals, rose to 79.020 from 78.647 in North American trade late Friday. The euro EURUSD -0.25% bought $1.3326, down slightly from $1.3409 late Friday. It touched a low of $1.3304 earlier.
