FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- The European Systemic Risk Board is working on solutions to address the vulnerability big euro-zone banks face through dollar funding and the risk that currency trading can have in encouraging excessive economic growth, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said Tuesday in Brussels.
Trichet was speaking in his role as chair of the ESRB, a European Union institution responsible for limiting systemic risks to the euro-zone's financial system.
Trichet further called for swift and coordinated effort to address the ongoing euro-zone debt and banking crisis, warning that the risk of contagion in the financial system was rapidly increasing.
