WSJ:Key US Dollar, Euro Libor Rise; Sterling Rate Unchanged
LONDON (Dow Jones)--The cost of borrowing dollars and euros for three months in the London interbank market rose Thursday while the sterling rate was unchanged.
Data from the British Bankers' Association showed the three-month dollar London Interbank Offered Rate, known as Libor, rising to 0.42806% from 0.42472%.
The spread between the three-month dollar Libor and the three-month overnight index swap rate--a barometer of banks' willingness to lend--widened slightly to 34.6 basis points from 34.5 basis points Wednesday.
The euro rate rose to 1.52375% from 1.52063% while the three-month sterling rate was unchanged at 0.98544%.
