BLBG:Mauritius’s Rupee Heads for Worst Month in 13 Against the Euro
Mauritius’s rupee advanced for a second day against the euro, paring its loss this month against the currency of its main trading partner.
The Indian Ocean island nation’s currency advanced 1.2 percent to 40.4469 per euro by 10:10 a.m. in Port Louis, the capital, trimming its loss this month to 3.8 percent, the biggest monthly decline since September 2010, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
Against the dollar, the currency in which two-thirds of the nation’s import bills are denominated, the rupee weakened for the first day in three, depreciating 0.7 percent to 28.90 and trimming its monthly gain to 0.1 percent.
