SG:Ukraine will save USD 6 billion per year after signing Russian gas deal - Mr Azarov
Ukrainian Journal Staff cited Mr Mykola Azarov Prime Minister of Ukraine as saying that Ukraine will save USD 500 million per month or USD 6 billion per year after signing a deal with Russia on lower natural gas prices.
Mr Azarov reacted to a report in a newspaper earlier Tuesday suggesting Ukraine and Russia have agreed to lower gas prices to USD 220 to USD 230 per 1,000 cubic meters from about USD 401/1,000 cubic meters currently.
Mr Azarov said “We are holding persistent talks with Russia. Once we reach the deal on acceptable gas price, we will at once save roughly speaking USD 500 million a month or USD 6 billion a year.”
