WSJ:Three-Month Dollar And Sterling Borrowing Rates Rise; Euro Falls
LONDON (Dow Jones)--The cost of borrowing dollars and sterling for three months in the London interbank market was higher Tuesday, while the corresponding euro rate continued to ease.
Data from the British Bankers' Association showed the three-month dollar London Interbank Offered Rate, or Libor, rose to 0.52694% from 0.52306% Monday.
The spread between the three-month dollar Libor and overnight index swaps, a barometer of market stress, rose to 42.80 basis points from 41.06 basis points Monday, continuing the uptrend started in August.
The euro rate fell to 1.41438% from 1.41750% Monday, while the sterling rate rose to 1.03513% from 1.03388%.
