LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Benchmark New York crude-oil futures held steady early Friday, extending their sideways movement after a 1.6% rally on Wednesday. Crude for January delivery CL2F +0.09% went for $100.19 a barrel in New York Mercantile Exchange electronic trading, little changed from its $100.20 settlement during the U.S. session.
