MW: Coming up: U.S. jobless claims, producer prices

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The U.S. Labor Department is set to release reports on weekly jobless claims and U.S. wholesale prices for November at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expect claims in the week ended Dec. 10 to rise by 9,000 to 390,000. Producer prices, meanwhile, are forecast to rise 0.1% after a falling 0.3% in the prior month. Core producer prices, which exclude food and energy, are seen rising 0.2%. Also Thursday, the New York Federal Reserve will issue its Empire State report on regional manufacturing. The Empire State index is expected to rise to 3.0% in December from a prior reading of 0.6%.
