SG:Gazprom to import more natural gas from Azerbaijan
Gazprom has announced that it will increase natural gas imports from Azerbaijan to 3 billion cubic meters in 2012.
Azerbaijan's state run natural gas company, SOCAR's president Mr Rövnag Abdullayev met with Russian Gazprom President Mr Alexey Miller on December 14th 2011 to discuss an increase in the amount of gas Gazprom purchased from Azerbaijan. In the meeting, the two company heads agreed to increase the amount of gas by 1 billion cubic meters.
In 2011, Gazprom purchased 2 billion cubic meters of gas from Socar and 799 million cubic meters in 2010.
