BLBG:Australian Dollar Holds Earlier Gains After RBA December Minutes Released
Australia’s dollar held earlier gains after the country’s Reserve Bank released minutes of its December meeting when it cut interest rates for the second- straight month.
The currency traded at 99.24 U.S. cents at 11:33 a.m. in Sydney from 99.14 cents before the minutes were released and 98.96 cents in New York yesterday.
The central bank on Dec. 6 cut the overnight cash rate target to 4.25 percent from 4.5 percent.
