U.S. stock index futures are higher this morning in very light pre-holiday trading.
Asia-Pacific markets were mostly higher overnight, but gains were relatively muted. European markets were all higher, with the gains concentrated in France. None of the moves this morning were particularly strong.
In currency markets the U.S. dollar was trading lower against its basket across the board. The lower dollar helped lend some weight to commodity prices, though strength was scattered.
Energy prices are mostly lower, with agricultural products trading higher. Industrial metals are up, with copper rising more than 1.3 percent. Gold is essentially flat, while silver is up nearly 1 percent.
In stock-specific news, Shutterfly is likely to trade down after it cut guidance on revenue and profit. Support for the shares is at $22.75.
SunPower is up nearly 2 percent after agreeing to buy the solar power unit of Total. Rambus is up 19 percent after inking a patent license agreement with Broadcom.
