NEW DELHI: Copper prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on sustained buying by stockists influenced by a rising trend in copper at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
The trading sentiment in copper remained firm after it climbed in London, as US consumer confidence rose and jobless claims declined in the world's biggest economy, improving the outlook for metals demand.
Meanwhile, cooper for delivery in three months gained 1.2 per cent to USD 7,627.25 per tonne on the LME.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap remained in demand and advanced by Rs 2 to Rs 392 per kg.
