NEW DELHI: Copper futures prices fell by 0.25 per cent today, as speculators reduced their positions, taking weak cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February fell by Re 1, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 406.45 per kg, in a turnover of 5,022 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in April declined by 95 paise, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 410.20 per kg in 437 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in copper futures prices to a weakening trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.4 per cent to USD 7,750.25 per tonne on the LME.
