WSJ:BASE METALS: Shanghai Copper Rises; Range Trade Ahead Of Holiday
SHANGHAI (Dow Jones)--Copper on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose Wednesday, extending its 2.4% gain the previous day due to better-than-expected macroeconomic data from China.
But copper remained locked in its recent range as upbeat sentiment over economic data released Tuesday faded and concerns over euro-zone debt problems resurfaced.
The benchmark April copper contract settled 0.5% higher at CNY59,600 a metric ton.
