BLBG:New Zealand Dollar Weakens After Consumer Prices Unexpectedly Declined
The New Zealand dollar weakened after a report showed consumer prices unexpectedly fell in the fourth quarter from the previous three-month period.
The New Zealand currency traded at 80.44 U.S. cents at 10.46 a.m. in Wellington from 80.70 cents before the release.
Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News had predicted a gain in consumer prices of 0.4 percent.
