RTRS:S.Africa rand 1.3 pct weaker vs dollar on importer demand
JOHANNESBURG Jan 25 (Reuters) - South Africa's rand fell over 1.3 percent against the dollar on Wednesday to a fresh one-week low partly as importer buyers of greenback came in after the rand hit two month highs earlier.
The rand met with some resistance after hitting 7.8961 earlier, its strongest since mid-November. It was last trading at 8.0150 from Tuesday's New York close of 7.9250.
Sentiment is also fragile after the International Monetary Fund cut the world's growth outlook on Tuesday and also slashed South Africa's GDP growth forecast for 2012 to 2.5 percent. (Reporting by Phumza Macanda)
