ET:Gold, platinum rise to highest since mid-November
LONDON: Gold and platinum prices rose to their highest in 11 weeks on Friday as a brief uptick in the euro boosted interest in precious metals ahead of key U.S. non-farm payrolls data due later in the day.
Spot gold was up 0.1 percent at $1,760.44 an ounce at 0909 GMT, having earlier risen to a session high at $1,762.40 an ounce, its strongest since Nov. 17.
Platinum touched a high of $1,631.50, and was later at $1,627.38, little changed from the previous session.
