NEW DELHI: Tracking a firming global trend, nickel prices rose by Rs 8.60 to Rs 1,017.80 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in March month rose by Rs 8.60, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 1,017.80 per kg in business turnover of 389 lots.
Similarly, the February contract moved up by Rs 8.30, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 1007.90 per kg in 3467 lots.
Analysts said buying by speculators following a firming global trend mainly pushed up nickel prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, nickel advanced 1.2 per cent to 20,398 dollar a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
