MW:Dollar slips against euro, other major currencies

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar fell against the euro during Asian trading hours Wednesday to give back more gains it made overnight in North America, with eased worries about Greece supporting the common currency. The ICE dollar index DXY -0.25% , which measures the greenback against a basket of six major global rivals, fell to 79.430 from 79.616 in the U.S. late Tueesday. The euro EURUSD +0.24% was changing hands for $1.327 from $1.3171, and EURJPY +0.19% 111.02 yen from 110.76 yen, while the British pound GBPUSD +0.09% rose to $1.588 from $1.5861. Against the Japanese unit, the greenback USDJPY -0.0687% was changing hands for 83.677 yen from 83.77 yen. The Australian dollar AUDUSD +0.17% was trading at $1.050 from $1.0480.
