NEW DELHI: Copper and nickel prices rose by Rs 3 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sustained buying by stockists in tandem with a firming global trend.
Traders said besides a firming global trend, pick up in demand from domestic industries also influenced copper and nickel prices.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery rose by 0.7 per cent to USD 8,409.50 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) advanced by Rs 3 each to Rs 385 and Rs 1,060-1,062 per kg, respectively.
The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 112-118, nickel plate (4x4) 1,060-1,062, gun metal scrap 226, bell metal scrap 228, copper mixed scrap 385, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 128, lead imported 126, aluminium ingots 123, sheet cutting 125, aluminium wire scrap 129 and aluminium utensils scrap 124.
