NEW DELHI: Buoyed by a firming global trend and pick up in domestic demand, nickel prices rose by Rs 6.20 to Rs 935 per kg in futures trade today on speculators enlarging their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in May rose by Rs 6.20, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 935 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,121 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in April moved up by Rs 5.90, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 923.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 19,071 lots.
Market said besides a firming global trend, increased demand from alloy-makers in the spot market mainly pushed up nickel prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, nickel advanced 2.1 per cent to USD 18,190 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
