BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Ford Motor Co. F +2.06% said Tuesday that U.S. sales of its vehicles rose 5% in March over the previous year's period to 223,418. Car sales were up 8%, with sales of its popular Ford Focus leaping 78% to 28,293. Utility vehicle sales increased 6%, while trucks sales jumped 11%. Shares of Ford were up 1.7% at $12.84 in early trading.
