BLBG:U.S. stock futures trim rise after jobless claims

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures trimmed Thursday's gains after the Labor Department reported 386,000 Americans filed requests for jobless benefits last week, more than the 374,000 expected by economists surveyed by MarketWatch. "Weekly jobless claims have gotten a bit noisy of late but without dismissing the data too much, the Easter holiday is having an impact," emailed Dan Greenhaus, chief global strategist at BTIG LLC in New York. Up about 40 points ahead of the data, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJM2 +0.13% were lately up 20 points at 12,977. S&P 500 futures SPM2 +0.24% were up 2.1 points at 1,380.40. Nasdaq 100 futures were up 8.75 points at 2,703.25.
