Published: April 20, 2012 at 10:36 AM

NEW YORK, April 20 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices climbed above $104 per barrel Friday in New York as the dollar turned lower and equity futures looked strong.

Traders are also contemplating a possible shift in monetary policy in China and better-than-expected results in a survey of business confidence in Germany.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for June delivery gained $1.67 on the New York Mercantile Exchange to $104.39 per barrel.

Home heating oil prices added 1.52 cents to $3.1436 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline lost 0.17 cents to $3.1141 per gallon.

Natural gas prices added 1.4 cents to $1.921 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped one penny to $3.881 per gallon Friday from Thursday's $3.891, AAA said.
