RTRS: CBOT soy higher; corn retreats after early advance

CHICAGO, April 20 (Reuters) - Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were higher in early moves Friday, bolstered by recent U.S. export demand, worries about South American crop losses and a weaker U.S. dollar, traders said.

Corn rose but soon retreated, with traders citing a lack of confirmation from USDA about widespread rumors that China bought U.S. corn.

As of 9:48 a.m. CDT (1448 GMT), CBOT May soybeans were up 5-1/4 cents at $14.21 per bushel, with May corn down 3/4 cent at $6.20-1/4 a bushel. (Reporting by Julie Ingwersen)
