FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- The European Commission on Thursday said its economic sentiment indicator fell more than expected in April to 92.8 from a reading of 94.5 the previous month. The reading is the lowest since December. Economists had forecast a reading of 94.2. The commission's industry confidence index fell to minus 9 from minus 7.1 in March, while the services index dropped to minus 2.4 from minus 0.3. The retail trade index rose to minus 11.4 from minus 12.0, while the construction index declined to minus 27.4 from minus 26.7. The EC's consumer confidence index fell to minus 19.9 from minus 19.1.
