WSJ:Mitsubishi Heavy: Received Gas Turbine Order From TransAlta
TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (7011.TO) said Thursday that it has received an order from TransAlta Generation Partnership, a unit of TransAlta Corp. (TAC), to supply two gas turbines for installation at power generation units being built by TransAlta in Alberta, Canada.
The gas turbines will be core components of the new natural gas-fired 800-megawatt combined cycle Sundance 7 power plant.
Gas-fired power plants have been in strong demand in North America since last year, thanks to persistently low natural gas prices there, a Mitsubishi Heavy spokesman said. He declined to specify the value of the deal.
TransAlta Corp. is a major power generation and wholesale marketing company in Canada.
