RTRS:Asia-Pacific Crude-Steady as traders eye tenders

SINGAPORE, May 7 (Reuters) - Asia-Pacific crude market held
steady on Monday as traders look ahead to tenders this week for
July price direction.

* TENDERS
- Russia Rosneft offered 95,000 tonnes or about 730,000
barrels of Sokol for July 6-16 loading in a tender that will
close on May 10.
The Russian light crude may come under pressure from a sharp
reduction in the OSPs for rival Saudi grades although steady
demand from regular buyers could support, a trader said.
A second trader said BP offered June Sokol at $7.50 a barrel
above Dubai quotes, as it tries to resell its cargo at a higher
premium to capitalise on a recent improvement in middle
distillates cracks. This could not be confirmed.
- Several tenders for Vietnamese crude due this week,
including the first semi-term supply for Te Giac Trang. Recent
price weakness for sweet crude in Asia could weigh on TGT
although the medium grade has been quite popular with oil
majors, especially Shell, and Japanese refiners.
TGT's popularity comes as Vietnamese crude exports have
fallen after flagship Bach Ho was diverted to domestic use while
supplies of another key grade Su Tu Den were snapped up by
Japanese utilities for burning at oil-fired units after nuclear
reactors were shut on safety concerns.
- For purchases, Petrovietnam is seeking crude for June
while Indonesia has already completed its spot buys for July
delivery.

* OSP
- The official Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) for Minas has
been calculated at $127.96 a barrel for April, down $3.54 from
March, an industry source said.

* MARKET NEWS
- The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have promised to
fill any gap in South Korea's oil imports if Iran decides to cut
its crude exports to the country, South Korean Minister of
Strategy and Finance Bahk Jae-wan said
- Japan is considering a new law to provide sovereign
guarantees for its ships to allow them to continue importing
Iranian crude oil after EU sanctions come into effect in July,
the Nikkei business daily said.
