(RTTNews) - The US dollar gained ground against the major currencies of Europe in early deals on Thursday.
The greenback is presently quoted at 1.5859 against the pound, its highest level since April 16. If the dollar strengthens further, 1.5820 is seen as the next likely resistance level.
The dollar also reached as high as 0.9464 against the Swiss franc and 1.2695 against the euro before leveling off around 6:25 am ET.
On the upside, the greenback may challenge yesterday's multi-month highs of 0.9473 against the franc and 1.2683 against the euro in the near-term.
