SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Benchmark U.S. crude-oil futures extended gains in electronic trading Tuesday ahead of the release of U.S. supply reports due later in the day. Oil for June delivery CLM2 +0.26% added 35 cents, or 0.4%, to $92.92 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange during Asian trading hours. Later Tuesday, the American Petroleum Institute is due to issue its weekly U.S. inventory report, followed by the more closely watched Energy Information Administration report due Wednesday. Analysts polled by Platts expect to see an increase of 750,000 barrels of crude stocks for the week ending May 18.
