The domestic unit opened higher at Rs 54.65 after the Reserve Bank of India announced steps to curb rupee arbitrage. At 3.10 pm, the rupee was trading at 55.34 against the dollar. The call rates were trading at 8.10 after touching an intra-day high of 8.25. The rates closed at 8.24 on Monday. The benchmark 8.79 per cent 2021 Government Security was trading at a high Rs 101.68 after opening at Rs 101.50.
