Oil prices held held under $88 per barrel overnight on the New York Mercantile Exchange with traders betting on another week of stockpiling.
The Energy Information Administration is scheduled to release a weekly stockpile report Thursday afternoon. Traders expect inventories to rise for the tenth consecutive week.
In New York, the price of West Texas Intermediate for July delivery shed 12 cents to $87.70 per barrel, near the low for the year.
Natural gas for June delivery gave up 1.9 cents to $2.399 per million British thermal units.
Home heating oil lost 0.54 cents to $2.7384 per gallon.
RBOB gasoline futures for July delivery were off 1.61 cents to $2.7578 per gallon.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped to $3.62 per gallon from Wednesday's $3.626, AAA said.
