NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures held the bulk of Thursday gains after the government said its count of those filing for jobless benefits declined by 12,000 last week to 377,000, slightly better than expected. The four-week average edged up by 1,750 to 377,750, a monthly high. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJM2 +0.51% were up 56 points, or 0.5%, at 12,475.0. Futures for the S&P 500 SPM2 +0.78% rose 8.8 points, or 0.7%, to 1,324.30. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 12.75 points, or 0.5%, to 2562.75. |
