MW: Gold nears session low as oil trades nearly flat

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures fell Monday to trade near their intraday low, pulling back from a high above $1,600 an ounce, while oil prices traded little changed after both commodities staged a rally earlier on news of a bailout for Spanish banks. Gold for August delivery GCQ2 -0.39% fell $3.90, or 0.3%, to $1,587.50 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. July crude oil CLN2 -0.29% traded at $84.13 a barrel on Nymex, up 3 cents, after tapping a high of $86.64.
