(AP) - The dollar is rising slightly against the euro, which gave up some of its gains from last week.
The euro rose last week after the leaders of the 17 eurozone countries agreed to allow direct bailouts of teetering banks and to ease new austerity measures on the most stricken countries.
The dollar rose against the euro, to $1.2574 Monday, from $1.2660 on Friday.
The dollar also gained against the British pound and the Canadian dollar.
The British pound was up to $1.5675, from $1.5683. The dollar rose to 1.091 Canadian dollars, from 1.0170.
The dollar also fell against the yen, to 79.420 yen, from 79.85.
