MIAMI (CBSMiami) – After weeks of falling prices at the pump, they are on their way back up.
In South Florida alone, we’ve seen a nickel or more increase in the last week.
Nationwide, prices jumped, on average, about four cents in the last week to $3.42 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to GasBuddy.com.
According to the American Automobile Association, in Florida the price for regular unleaded increased 7 cents in the last week to $3.26 a gallon. Last year at this time, that same gallon was running around $3.55.
In Miami-Dade and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average; regular unleaded is running $3.37 a gallon. Last year at this time regular unleaded gas averaged $3.66 in Miami and $3.64 in Ft. Lauderdale.
