NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The dollar recovered from an earlier decline against the euro and other major currencies on Tuesday as European stocks and U.S. stock futures pared gains. The dollar index DXY +0.14% , which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, turned up to 83.260 from 83.165 in North American trade late Monday. The euro EURUSD -0.31% fell to $1.2277, compared with $1.2312 Monday.
