BS:Base metals slide on subdued demand
 
Most of the base metals slid further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockist selling amidst subdued demand from industrial users despite higher London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.

Meanwhile, copper utensils scrap gained on better offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metals rose at the LME on better manufacturing data from China offsetting investor worries over Spain's debt problems.

Tin dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,275 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,285.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and zinc went down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 480, Rs 472 Rs 508 and 132, respectively.

Brass utensils scrap, brass utensils scrap and lead softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 315, Rs 324, and Rs 122.

However, copper utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 444 from Rs 442.
