NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks fell in early action on Tuesday, while the broad equities market traded mixed and crude oil prices rose. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund XLE -0.43% fell 0.4%. S&P 500 component Tesoro Corp. TSO -2.08% fell 2.9% and Peabody Energy Corp. BTU -3.76% moved down by 3.1%. On the up side, Chesapeake Energy Corp. CHK +0.75% rose 1%.
