CSCO +2.34% rose 2.2% to $16.71. Johnson & Johnson JNJ -0.39% fell 0.3% to $68.93. Home Depot Inc. HD -0.02% was flat at $52.25. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. WMT -0.08% was flat at $74.52. The S&P 500 SPX +0.51% edged up 0.47% to 1,397.48. Material XLB +1.01% stocks were the best performers in the index. Utility stocks XLU -0.26% lagged.
