The official value of the shekel rose an average of .362 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.987, down a quarter of a percent, while the Euro fell .686 percent to 4.9062 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.2359, down .331 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .345 percent to 5.0894 shekels. The Canadian dollar rose .067 percent to 4.0122 shekels, while its Australian counterpart slipped .111 percent to NIS 4.2152. The South African rand jumped 1.13 percent to .4921 shekels.
