In the Bucks and Montgomery area, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.701 per gallon, which is 7.6 cents higher than a week ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
In the last week of July, prices dropped about 1 cent per gallon, but the report indicates that prices for crude oil moved above $90 a barrel after a positive U.S. jobs report on Friday. More employment, means more fuel is in demand and that pushes prices higher.
The local pump prices are 26.4 cents higher than a month ago but 6.9 cents lower than a year ago.
Locally, the best price for regular is $3.58 at the Prophete Brothers Liberty gas station at 4421 Brownsville Rd. in Feasterville Trevose, followed by $3.60 at the Southampton Hess at 724 Street Rd.
