BS:Select base metals ended mixed

Select base metal prices ended mixed at the non-ferrous metal market here today on bouts of buying and selling despite positive London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.

The Industrial metal edged up at the LME on hopes that a strategy by the European Central Bank will help alleviate the euro zone debt crisis.

Nickel spurted by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,250 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,245 and copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 462 from Rs 459.

Aluminium utensils scrap inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 115.
However, Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and copper wirebar all softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 480, Rs 472, Rs 464, Rs 439, and Rs 508, respectively.
